Mapping the world, one waxy strand at a time…

Fifty Peaks

In the fall of 2010, Brent and I added something new to our lifelong to-do list: climbing the highest peak in each of the 50 states in the US.  Check out our progress!

State One: Delaware

State Two: Florida

State Three: New Jersey

State Four: Massachusetts

States Five, Six, and Seven: West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania

State Eight: Connecticut

State Nine: Rhode Island

State Ten: Hawaii

State Eleven: Kentucky

When you come to Arizona to hike Humphreys Peak in Flagstaff, you are welcome to stay with me in Phoenix. It’s about a 3 hour drive from Flag.

When you go to Hawaii, even though it isn’t the highest peak, you’ll have to do the Haiku Steps on Oahu. It is an outstanding hike http://lazybonesrunning.blogspot.com/2009/02/haiku-steps.html

Early August I’m doing a charity climb up Mt. Borah, Idaho’s highest. You’re welcome to come along, and maybe we can try the peaks in Montana, Wyoming, or Utah as well.

Sounds great, how is it going, and what number are you up to?? And good luck with the racing by the way!
